I must have a zillion Paris travel books as I love planning various trips to this wonderful city. This book caught my eye so gave it a try. I found the organization by different foods, neighborhoods, interests, and seasons to be a GREAT idea. Especially the food part (cheese, chocolate, coffee, etc.). The illustrations are also adorable….BUT, the way each chapter shows recommended places by a figurative map (for example, a dozen different coffee cups scattered around a map of paris to be….not helpful. This requires you to look up any recommendation on a (real) map to see if it fits in with your itinerary as there are no streets on these cute maps (just a general idea). And yes, in the following pages an address (and Arrondissement) are listed but it is still a pain to see how close, for example, a recommendation is from a particular landmark/site to plan your day. And although I did gain several new rec’s to try out on next trip, the descriptions of all the rec’s are extremely short (1-2 sentences) and largely repetitive so that there are no differentiators to help you choose why you would want to visit one over another. For example, this wonderful/outstanding/delightful xyz has delicious/innovative/charming xyz. What makes one different from the next? If I only have time to try 1-2 recommended fromageries or ice-cream shops or hot chocolate places, which to choose? I wish the descriptions for each were longer and differentiating (how about some insider details? why/how is this place charming? Innovative in what way?) so that one could really have a reason to visit one place over another. Having said all that, I would still recommend the book as it is just so darn charming. But for a planner like me, detailed maps are a must 🙂

Bought as a gift and recipients enjoyed it. Took a walk down memory lane from their last trips to Paris.

We went to Paris for the first time about a year ago. We are planning our 2nd trip and doing some research, we came across this book. I ordered it and was not disappointed. It’s adorably illustrated. While the maps are not exact (they are not ment to be, pull up Google Maps for that), this book is helpful to plan your first visit or 10th. I also picked up her London book, which I’m sure it will be just as adorable. Thank you 😊

This is a beautiful book about the neighbourhoods (arrondissement) of Paris. It is beautifully illustrated and gives you a really nice idea of what to expect from each neighbourhood. It is helpful when booking a hotel or AirBnB on where to stay, and also helps with self-guided walking tours. Overall, a great book.

Charming, clever, and full of feeling.
This isn’t your standard travel guide, it’s more like a love letter to Paris, with hand-drawn charm and poetic notes in every corner. The block-by-block layout is both practical and personal. Ideal if you’re planning a trip or just daydreaming from afar. It made me want to wander with no destination.

Beautiful book and love the layout. The sections are well organized and I like that the addresses for the locations are included. I like it so much I bout it for my cousin as well. We are traveling to Paris for her wedding next year.
